Defected In The House Ibiza ’12 is a 3-disc mix showcasing the impressive diversity of house music that Defected now champions. Mixed by the label’s founder Simon Dunmore and taking in upfront tracks from Sandy Rivera, Groove Armada, Dennis Ferrer & Karizma, Claptone and Mark Fancuilli, this is more than simply a showcase of the latest and greatest, with Dunmore selecting a number of records that have soundtracked his epic journey through house music. Current rubs shoulders with classic as seminal records from Romanthony, Sandy B, Timmy Regisford, Jamie Myerson and Chez Damier make an appearance, while Dunmore has even made a rare visit to the studio, collaborating with James Talk on an exclusive re-edit of Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley’s ‘The Word is Love’.

Dimitri From Paris, Sandy Rivera, Julien Chaptal en Franky Rizardo komen over voor een legendarisch verjaardagsfeest. In AIR2 kun je genieten van een vier uur durende set van Taras van de Voorde.

Op 24 maart is Defected in the House voor de derde keer terug in AIR. Defected en AIR bleken een perfecte match te zijn tijdens het Amsterdam Dance Event en dit resulteerde in een legendarische avond met o.a. Frankie Knuckles en Inner City. Direct na ADE werd besloten om door te gaan met Defected in AIR. Natuurlijk ook dit keer mogen de verschillende grote Defected artiesten niet ontbreken in de line-up. NOIR, bekend van de wereldhit ‘Around’ samen met Haze, komt over uit Denemarken en niemand minder dan Defected eindbaas Simon Dunmore uit Engeland. Chocolate Puma vertegenwoordigd de Nederlandse tak van Defected en Jason Shae & Pete Bandid zorgen voor een overdosis funky house in AIR2.

2012 is the year Defected embark on A House Music Odyssey, kicking off with our musical tribute to the Miami Winter Music Conference. Every year, thousands of DJs and music-lovers make the annual pilgrimage to Miami, as for one week of the year the city is transformed into a dance music Mecca. And while the sound of some parties and festivals choose to go bigger and louder each year in an effort to make themselves heard, we prefer to go back to where it all started, with a fresh approach to the core values of ‘real’ house music around which the conference was originally built.

Defected Records current DJ /producers unite with seminal DJs Frankie Knuckles, Inner City (LIVE) and MK to bring you the contemporary and classic house sound of Detroit, Chicago and NYC to AIR this ADE. The influence of the original pioneers of house music has never been more keenly felt than in 2011 with a return to the classic sound. The majority of the year’s breakthrough artists owed much of their popularity to artists who first introduced the scene to the world’s dance floors in the late 80’s.  For their inaugural ADE event at stunning new venue AIR, Defected have brought together three of the biggest names in house music, Frankie Knuckles, Inner City LIVE and MK. With Knuckles originally from Chicago, Kevin Saunderson and Inner City from Detroit and MK from New York, we have a unique opportunity to sample the whole spectrum of House at one event. Their sets will undoubtedly contain well loved classics, but this is not a classic house night. The DJs maintain their position as the best in the world by constantly seeking out the freshest and newest bombs setting the standard for contemporary producers to follow. 

De sneltrein vaart waarmee Defected edities uitbrengt in de bekende ‘Defected In The House’ serie is bijna niet bij te houden, zijn we net bijgekomen van de Brazil editie is het nu tijd voor de oversteek naar Miami. Als je aan Miami denkt denk je hoogstwaarschijnlijk ook aan zonnige taferelen en de daarbij behorende sounds. Defected vroeg de twee meest populaire dj’s uit Spanje om deze editie samen te stellen en te mixen. Niemand minder dan DJ Chus en David Penn hebben de eer om hun aanstekelijke zonnige sounds te laten horen. Hoewel Defected de cd’s in deze serie op hoog tempo lanceert zijn de compilaties altijd van hoge kwaliteit, eens kijken of dat op de Miami ’11 editie ook het geval is.

Het is elk jaar tijdens ADE toch steeds Defected met haar warme zomerse uplifting housemuziek die de show steelt! De verslavende beats, die de intoxicated houseliefhebber meesleurde in de diepste dieptes van deze muzikale rush staat nog bij vele in het geheugen gegrift! En nu, 12 Maart 2011, komt Defected wederom terug en beter dan ooit, met niemand minder dan platenbaas Simon Dunmore himself en de fantastische Rae.  Defected Records Ltd. Defected is opgestart in een klein kantoortje in Soho, London, maar is inmiddels een hoofdrolspeler geworden in de internationale dance-scene. Het label onderscheidt zich door opkomend talent te begeleiden en onder haar vleugels klaar te stomen voor wereldwijd succes. Het zal dan ook niemand verbazen dat grote namen zoals Bob Sinclar, Junior Jack, Sandy Rivera en Masters At Work door Defected gecontracteerd zijn. Defected geeft artiesten ook de ruimte om zich te ontplooien in de industrie, zo is onder meer Roger Sanchez aan Stealth Records begonnen.

Calling all DJs, producers, labels, promoters and party starters – Miami has ‘Las mejores fiestas del mundo’. Let’s face it, those of you who are seasoned clubbers and passionate hedonists will already know about the insane annual event over the Atlantic pond in Miami. Its common knowledge that the Winter Music Conference should now be renamed the ‘Let’s get hammered and look at lovely bodies festival’. Although nowadays there is probably less business done compared to parties attended and hangovers endured, however the WMC still represents the place where the freshest and most upfront tracks are road tested to become future anthems and crossover hits. Those of you that have been lucky enough to experience the culture of Miami firsthand will have surely noticed that you can only get so far with the Queen’s beloved  English.  The city is now largely populated by Hispanics whose first language is Spanish. In fact according to MSN News, Hispanics make up 59% of the local community and it’s common to hear the local clubbers talking about ‘Las mejores fiestas del mundo’ the best parties in the world on South Beach…and they are not wrong.

Defected Records, een van de meest toonaangevende house labels ter wereld, brengt al jaren in hoog tempo vermakelijke compilaties en albums uit. De meest uitspringende serie is met afstand Defected In The House, een concept waarop op elk deel een bepaald land of een stad centraal staat. De edities worden altijd gemixt door een grote naam uit de house scene en ook door lokale grootheden uit het land dat op de compilatie centraal staat. Met een gloednieuwe editie in de Defected In The House serie is ditmaal Brazilië dat centraal staat, de sound uit het land wordt gebracht door niemand minder dan Sandy Rivera en misschien nog wel meer door DJ Meme. Sandy Rivera kennen velen natuurlijk van producties als 'Changes', ‘Don’t Stop’, ‘Persuasion’ en zijn recente remix van ‘Hide U’. DJ Meme zal niet bij iedereen een lampje gaan branden maar hij is een van de meest populaire dj’s uit Brazilië. Ondanks dat hij hier nog niet super bekend is heeft de man al samengewerkt met een lijst imposante namen als Shakira, Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, Dido, Ricky Martin en Des’ree. Daarnaast wordt hij getipt als de Braziliaanse Joey Negro of Dimitri From Paris.
