Defected In The House Ibiza ’12 is a 3-disc mix showcasing the impressive diversity of house music that Defected now champions. Mixed by the label’s founder Simon Dunmore and taking in upfront tracks from Sandy Rivera, Groove Armada, Dennis Ferrer & Karizma, Claptone and Mark Fancuilli, this is more than simply a showcase of the latest and greatest, with Dunmore selecting a number of records that have soundtracked his epic journey through house music. Current rubs shoulders with classic as seminal records from Romanthony, Sandy B, Timmy Regisford, Jamie Myerson and Chez Damier make an appearance, while Dunmore has even made a rare visit to the studio, collaborating with James Talk on an exclusive re-edit of Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley’s ‘The Word is Love’.

Het Engelse platenlabel Defected Records heeft nu al meerdere succesvolle events neergezet in AIR. Deze editie zal absoluut de kroon spannen want Defected pakt speciaal voor de verjaardag van AIR flink uit. De grote Defected artiesten zullen deze keer natuurlijk ook niet ontbreken. Dimitri From Paris, Sandy Rivera, Julien Chaptal en Franky Rizardo komen over voor een legendarisch verjaardagsfeest. In AIR2 kun je genieten van een vier uur durende set van Taras van de Voorde.

Echter kan je deze man geen talent meer nomen met zijn vele jaren dat hij actief is in de scene. Hij geeft aan dat alles wat hij doet door heem gedaan wordt omdat hij dat wil, niet omdat mensen dat van hem verwachten. Dat is wat mij betreft de juiste insteek. Afgelopen jaar kwam Osunlade met een nieuw artiesten nu is het terug met ‘Osunlade In the House’ een editie in de succesvolle ‘In The House’ serie van Defected. 

Detroits finest techno held Kevin Saunderson is de samenwerking met Defected aangegaan en is de mixer en samensteller van de eerste ‘In The House’ compilatie van 2012. Kevin Saunderson heeft uiteraard geen introductie nodig, hij wordt door velen gezien als levende legende. Met zijn aanstekelijke tech sound weet hij keer op keer de dansvloer in zijn greep te nemen en ook op productie vlak heeft hij zijn sporen lang en breed verdiend. Na artiesten als Copyright, Rae, ATFC, Tensnake, The Shapeshifters, Louie Vega en Gilles Peterson is het nu de beurt aan de held uit Detroit.

2012 is the year Defected embark on A House Music Odyssey, kicking off with our musical tribute to the Miami Winter Music Conference. Every year, thousands of DJs and music-lovers make the annual pilgrimage to Miami, as for one week of the year the city is transformed into a dance music Mecca. And while the sound of some parties and festivals choose to go bigger and louder each year in an effort to make themselves heard, we prefer to go back to where it all started, with a fresh approach to the core values of ‘real’ house music around which the conference was originally built.

Marc 'MK' Kinchen is an artist-producer who straddles boundaries as few others can, partly due to being the protégé of the legendary techno god Kevin Saunderson. On the one hand, he's revered by lovers of house and garage music worldwide. His classic 90s productions such as Burning, Always, K.E.L.S.E.Y's Boy and 4th Measure Men's For You remain floorfillers to this day, as do his 200-plus unmistakable remixes for artists ranging from Bizarre Inc to Blondie, not least his mix of Nightcrawlers' Push The Feeling On, which became one the biggest house crossover hits of the decade. He's cited as an influence by countless leading producers – including, significantly, Todd 'Godfather of UK Garage' Edwards. This pre-eminent status is reflected in the fact that he's the latest artist to be featured in Defected's House Masters series.
